How to Get There and What to Expect 📍

- Mountain Guide: An expert will accompany you throughout the route, providing you with information about the history, geology and biodiversity of the area, as well as guaranteeing your safety.
Safety Rules and Advice 🔒🛡️
- Adequate and compulsory equipment: Wear trekking shoes, comfortable clothing and sun protection to cope with the terrain and weather conditions.
Lack of any compulsory equipment will result in REFUSAL OF ACCESS to the canyon.
Documentation:
- Identification document proving that you are the ticket holder, even for minors (under 18 years of age).
- If applicable, accreditation of being a resident in the Canary Islands, under 18 years of age or a person federated in mountaineering or caving in Spain to justify the reduced rate.
- Road entry ticket for the requested shift.
- Ticket of the vessel to be used for the journey from Masca inlet to the port of origin or destination.
- If minors are not accompanied by the person who has legal guardianship of them, authorisation from that person to the person accompanying them as the person responsible for them. See model here.
Clothing and other accessories:
- Closed mountain footwear and appropriate hiking attire.
- Helmet (which will be lent to you by the Camino de Masca staff and must be returned at the end of the route).
- Sufficient water (as there are no drinking water points on the route). Minimum 1.5 litres per person.
- Mobile phone with charged battery.
- Specific medication (if required by medical prescription).
- Follow the Directions: Respect the instructions given by the guide and the regulations of the Self-protection Plan of the ravine, essential for your safety and the preservation of the environment.
- Use only the signposted route.
- The flow of the watercourse and the ponds may not be used for bathing.
- No camping or overnight stay.
- No fires or smoking.
- No hunting or fishing, except for exceptional conservation measures.
- Dogs and other domestic animals are not allowed (except for assistance or working dogs, subject to prior notification on the booking form).
- Take all EQUIPMENT with you.
- Follow the directions of the road staff at all times.
- The use of drones on a recreational or private level is not allowed on the road.
- In accordance with resolution no. 31/10 of 7/9/2010 of the Ilustre Ayuntamiento de la Villa de Buenavista del Norte, the beach of Masca is completely closed to the public.
- Care for the Environment: Help to conserve this natural heritage by following all the recommendations and keeping the environment clean.
Apart from the splendid landscape, both the hamlet and the Masca ravine are enclaves with special natural and cultural values. Moreover, they are part of the Teno Rural ParkIt is a protected natural area which, in addition to its great biological diversity, has an interesting geomorphological history and a rich ethnographic heritage.
