About our tour
In Salinas de Janubio you can enjoy a 90-minute guided tour and discover the process of making sea salt, from the salt pans to the artisanal and manual extraction, as it was made in the old days.
Itinerary
It is the only salt mine in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands with more than 127 years of uninterrupted activity passing from generation to generation. A unique walking tour, where you will enjoy its family history, the hydraulic layout, its mills for water extraction, the architecture and its landscape, ethnographic and environmental values. The visit includes a tasting with a drink and a surprise gift! What should I know before the visit? - We recommend comfortable clothing and footwear, as well as a hat to protect you from the sun. - If you are sensitive to light, we recommend bringing sunglasses, as the whiteness of the salt creates powerful reflections!
